This lovely 8.2 carat black opal arrived at 9:50am BST on August 5th. It was a sunny morning.Outside I was able to see all the blue-green fire of the opal and even a hint of purple. It is an amazing little stone. My good lady doesn't know as yet but it is going into an 18ct gold pendant as a gift for her 50th birthday. She is an October girl so the black opal is lucky for her (read the Wikipedia entries about opals ans superstition). As a non superstitious type myself I just like the opal. Thanks Mick for a super service!
