Pricing of Opals

All of our opals listed in our store are priced at WHOLESALE prices. Excpect to pay 3-4 times more when purchasing a similar opal from a retail store. All our prices on our site are in US Dollars. We buy opal in the rough direct form the miners, all our opals are cut and polished to the highest standards by us. We can offer our opals at low wholesale prices, since our opals don't go through the hands of other dealers who would all put their mark-up on the stones. All our opals are solid (natural) Black and Crystal opals sourced from the mines around Lightning Ridge, N.S.W, Australia. Our opals are not treated or enhanced in any way. We DO NOT sell any doublets, triplets or synthetic opals!!

With Paypal you can use your Amex, Visa, Mastercard credit card to pay for you purchases. If you have a PayPal account, you can also fund your payment from your bank account. We also accept Wire Transfers (in AUD), Personal Cheques (for orders over $300, please note: your purchase will only be sent once the cheque clears, it can take weeks), Western Union payments.

Exchange Policy

Black Opal World offers the following Returns Policy: Every single opal that is purchased from our showroom is covered by a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you're not fully satisfied with your purchase, we offer you a full money back guarantee (less any shipping and insurance charges). Items can be returned within 60 days from the date of purchase. You need to notify us within 14 days of receving the item if you intend to return it. We will provide you with instructions for returning the item. All costs associated with returning an item (including any import duty paid by the customer upon receiving their goods) is the buyer's responsibility.

Shipping

Anywhere in the world: $7 by air-mail (uninsured, for items under $100). Insured air-mail (for items from $100 to $500 in value) costs $19. For items between $500-$1000 in value, insured air-mail costs $29, between $1000-$2000 it costs $39, then add $10 per $1000 value. Shipping by air-mail takes around 7-10 days to the USA or Europe. Items are despatched on the following day the purchase is made and payment is received.

Taxes

Australian Buyers: GST (Goods and Services Tax) applies to Australian buyers, our prices are GST exclusive so the 10% GST will be added to your order.

Overseas Buyers: GST does not apply to overseas buyers, because they're buying exported goods. In rare occasions overseas buyers may be liable to import taxes imposed by their governments. Customers should research their country's import tax laws before making a purchase.
